The international artistic agency, Talents & Productions, was once again chosen by the national television (CCTV) this year to put together a variety TV show. From April 10 to April 20 2008, not less than 8 TV shows were recorded!
More than 50 performers from all over the world (USA, France, Italy, Germany, Sweden, England, Australia, Russia, ) were brought by the agency during 10 days near Beijing to be part of one of the 8 shows that will soon be broadcasted.
It is the second edition of this TV show and the television is already thinking about the next one that will happen between April and June 2009.

Circus officials are investigating why several audience members were sprayed with gasoline during a weekend show at Virginia's Richmond Coliseum.

Crystal Drake, a representative for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, confirmed to the (Norfolk) Virginian-Pilot that some spectators were doused with spilled gasoline from a motorcycle in a high-wire act at Saturday afternoon's show.

TOHU is a non-profit organization that receives funding from all three levels of government, plus sponsorship from the private sector. It opened its doors in 2004 and is best known for its popular circus events.

Its mission, however, is three-fold: it is dedicated to the establishment of Montreal as an international hub of circus activities; to the revitalization of the St. Michel Environmental Complex; and to contributing to the cultural, social and economic development of the St. Michel district.

The internationally renowned National Circus School and the headquarters for Cirque du Soleil are both located on the same large swath of land as TOHU. The area has been dubbed the circus city.

Saudi professional illusionist Mamdouh al-Marzouqi has boasted he can make one of Egypt's three pyramids disappear, AlArabiya.net reported Friday.

"I'm currently looking for a sponsor for this illusion because it would cost a lot of money to implement," al-Marzouqi, who is known professionally as Mumdo, told the Arab News.

The former marketing manager confessed he dreams of becoming a famous magician, but noted it is a challenge given where he lives.

AlArabiya.net said people are often arrested in Saudi Arabia and charged with performing black magic; that is, pretending they have supernatural powers and conning others out of their money.
